Signs that your child may be facing hearing difficulties:

• Not responding to their name from a distance
• Difficulty with following directions
• Delay in speech
• Not paying attention to sounds
• Talking loudly than normal
• Scratching or pulling the ears

How to prepare for the appointment ?

If you notice your child is having any difficulty in hearing, pay attention to the situations that may be causing it. You can discuss this with family and teachers to get a better understanding before the appointment. It would be advisable to bring your child to the appointment when he or she is not exhausted and is receptive.

What to expect during the hearing assessment?

Our audiologists will investigate your child’s ear health by discussing your concerns. Age-appropriate testing will be done to assess your child’s hearing ability. Counselling to make best use of your child’s hearing will be provided and followed up be requisite management. When medical attention or treatment is indicated we will refer you to see your GP or Ear Nose and Throat Specialist.
